Hi! If you have made it onto this page you are probably looking for easy-to-read, high quality information about the effects of trauma in primary attachment relationships (hereafter referred to as attachment trauma), and what can be done to treat its effects during childhood. If you are a parent or caregiver of these children, Colby particularly recommends his article Attachment Disorder Solutions to you. If you are a professional who works with these children, please read on!

Colby is renowned for being able to translate complex theory and specialist knowledge into accessible, user-friendly written material that is suitable for caregivers and professionals alike. Below, you will find links to articles Colby has written about the care, management and treatment of children who have experienced attachment trauma. They are not a substitute for his book A Short Introduction to Attachment and Attachment Disorder, but they are a good place to start; especially if you work with these children as part of your employment.

Colby has twenty-five years experience working with children who have experienced attachment trauma, and their caregivers in home and educational contexts. He has shared his knowledge widely with foster, adoptive and kinship carers, as well as professionals who work with these children. Colby enjoys presenting and sharing his knowledge with others, and has trained more than fifty practising Psychologists. Colby is more than happy to receive requests to talk to your group about his experiences and observations concerning  children who have experienced attachment trauma. Having written about, talked about and worked directly with these children and their caregivers, he can rightly claim to be an expert in the field of early childhood (attachment) trauma, its effects and its remediation.
