Secure Start® Psychologists offer diagnostic and treatment services for a range of psychological conditions and circumstances, including:

  • Tantrums and Meltdowns
  • Trauma
  • Abuse and Neglect
  • Post-Adoption Difficulties
  • Attachment Difficulties
  • Depression and Anxiety
  • Grief and Loss
  • School Refusal
  • Disruptive Behaviour Disorders (e.g Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder, Conduct Disorder)
  • Sleep Difficulties
  • Self Harm
  • Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Secure Start® Psychologists have experience and expertise working with diverse family types, including;

  • Natural Families
  • Adoptive Families
  • Foster Families
  • Grandparents caring for their grandchildren
  • Separated Families
  • Asylum-seeker Families
  • Families from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

Secure Start® Psychologists are mindful that children’s behaviour and emotions can be affected by conditions  that fall outside the expertise of Psychologists. Where necessary, Secure Start® Psychologists refer to Audiologists, Medical Practitioners and Occupational Therapists for further assessment and treatment of conditions such as:

  • Auditory Processing Disorder
  • Sensory Integration Disorder
  • Attention Deficit Disorders.


Colby’s Fees:

Standard Fee: $200 per 55-minute consultation (Medicare Rebate $124.50***)

Concession Rate (for holders of a current Health Care Card): $150 per 55-minute                      consultation (Medicare Rebate $124.50****)

*Please note that Secure Start/Colby Pearce is not accepting new referrals at this time.

**You may be able to access a rebate through your private health fund. The size of this rebate varies from fund to fund.

A Minimum of twenty-four (24) hours prior notice is required for cancelling an appointment. Appointments cancelled with less than twenty-four hours prior notice will attract a $30 cancellation fee, payable at your next appointment. This fee will also be charged if you do not arrive for your appointment.

Child Custody and Contact Matters

Secure Start is no longer accepting any referrals to conduct assessments or provide therapy in child custody and contact matters.
