What is the first thing you notice about these simple maths equations?
Most viewers of this image report that the first thing they notice is the incorrect equation; the one in the bottom left corner.
This is very interesting. Our thoughts determine what we see, and the first thing we see is the error. No-one has ever responded to this image with “Aren’t you clever. You got nine right out of 10”!
This makes sense when we consider how successful human beings are at adapting to our environment. We are natural problem-solvers!
We just need to be careful how much we focus on problems.
